Why I Love This Product

Lacing beads onto a string is a developmental milestone for 3 year olds. When I discovered this fact, I went on a hunt for lacing beads thinking that I would ensure that my child was able to do this easily by the time he reached three by giving him the opportunity to do this at home.

I did find lacing bead sets - small pink beads with flowers on them for bracelets, larger butterfly beads in lavender and pink hues, and a variety of other options - mostly for girls and older children (very small beads). What I wanted was something gender neutral that both my son and my daughter could learn from. I wasn't interested in having my 18 month old daughter wear pretty beaded bracelets that were ultimately a choking hazard for her, nor did I feel my son would get full enjoyment out of the more feminine bead sets - obviously designed for little girls. So I kept hunting and eventually came across Melissa & Doug's Lacing Beads in a Box set.

Gender neutral, large enough for tiny hands to manipulate, educational (with the numbers and counting dots), bright and colourful, and exactly what I had been searching for. I was amazed at how difficult it was to find this product and decided it needed to be added to Storks & Berries offerings. I hope you will give this product some serious consideration - it really is great!
