Storks & Berries is a proudly Canadian company. All of our prices are quoted in Canadian dollars. Due to the current exchange rate, we are accepting US dollars at par for US orders; however, this is subject to change without notice.
Order Turnaround Times
In-stock orders received before 6 pm EST are generally shipped the next business day. Orders are processed Monday thru Thursday. Orders placed after 6pm on Thursday and before 6pm on Sunday will be processed over the weekend and shipped on Monday (in the case of a holiday, orders received between Thursday at 6pm and Sunday at 6pm will be shipped on the Tuesday).
If you happen to order something that is out of stock, we will contact you once your order is received with an ETA for when the item will be available for shipping. If you have questions about our stock levels for any particular product, please feel free to email me at dawn[email protected].
Please Note: Storks & Berries is a family-operated business. On very rare occasions, unanticipated family events may result in delays to shipping. In such cases, we will contact our customers as soon as possible.
Currently we only ship orders within Canada and to the USA.
Our shipping rates are based on where orders are being shipped to and reflect actual Canada Post rates (** see below for information about discounts and exceptions **). We feel this is the best way to minimize shipping costs for the majority of our customers, while enabling us to continue to provide exceptional service as Canada Post continues to increase their rates.
Free shipping is available on some orders starting at $100 depending on the dollar value of your order, the weight of your order and your shipping address. Your actual shipping rate is based on the actual shipping rate, with discounts applied to orders $100 and over. The shipping price will be displayed on the checkout page once you enter your postal code or zip code.
Our checkout page asks for your postal code or zip code. Please ensure this postal / zip code matches the Ship To postal / zip code in PayPal and that both are correct. We will ship your order to the address provided in PayPal (we are not responsible for orders shipped to old addresses which are not updated in PayPal so please verify your shipping address in PayPal!). If you use the incorrect postal / zip code on our checkout page, additional charges are likely and your order will not be shipped until we receive payment in full (you will be invoiced for the additional cost via PayPal email).
Please Note: We have worked hard to ensure the accuracy of our shipping quotes. We reserve the right, however, to apply additional charges to your order should our system calculate a grossly under-priced shipping quote. You will be contacted via email should this case ever arise.
In order to try and reduce our environmental impact, Storks & Berries reuses boxes when possible. This means your order may come shipped in a wide range of different boxes or envelopes, including boxes initially used to package a variety of different products. Because recycled paper has been found to contain BPA (from recycled receipt paper), we do not use recycled paper for our shipping labels and packing slips. We are not aware of recycled cardboard containing BPA.
We work hard to provide economical shipping using Canada Post. We generally use Canada Post because most of our customers prefer the flexibility to pick up their package at their local postal outlet rather than having a courier come to the door and ring the doorbell at baby's nap time. If you would prefer us to use FedEx or another carrier, please let us know via e-mail and we will work to accommodate your request; extra charges may apply.
Most of our orders are shipped the next business day as we do try to keep stock for most of the products we offer (there are a few exceptions so if you are in a rush for your order, please contact us and we can confirm stocking levels for you and provide an ETA). Should the items you order be out of stock, you will be contacted within 24 business hours of receiving your order with the options we can offer you. For unforeseen circumstances, please allow 2-3 weeks to receive your order.
Need your order faster? Please contact us and we will do our best to work with you to get your order to you within your timeframe. Extra shipping charges may apply in these situations.
$3 Mailing Option: We have a few small items on our website that can be shipped via Canada Post Regular Lettermail. These items contain notes on the product page to identify them. If you are ordering these items independently, please Contact Us and we will continue to honour the $3 shipping option if your order qualifies. Because we have recently experienced increasing confusion and abuse of this option when it was offered on our checkout page, we will now only be offering this option when you contact us directly in advance of placing your order. If you are interested in this option and want to know whether your item(s) will qualify, please email [email protected] to inquire. Please note, however, that you will not receive a tracking number or insurance if you opt for the $3 shipping option and Storks & Berries cannot be held responsible for any orders not received by Canada Post. We will include this clause on your invoice when preparing your invoice for qualifying items and payment of your invoice will be deemed acceptance of these terms.
USA Customers: Please note that we may opt to ship your order via Small Air/Surface Packet or Light Packet service if it is more cost effective than Expedited Parcel.
Items Which Include Shipping in the Price
Some of our larger / bulkier / heavier items are priced to include shipping charges. If an item includes shipping in its price, the item does not count towards free shipping on your order as these items are more expensive to ship and / or may be direct shipped from our supplier. Please email [email protected] for more information.
For orders being shipped outside of Canada or to remote Canadian areas (i.e. air stage communities), additional shipping charges may apply and, if applicable, will be invoiced to you via PayPal upon receipt of your order. Your order will not be processed until payment is received.
Items Returned by Canada Post
Items returned to us by Canada Post will be charged any and all "Return Shipping Charges" as well as any additional shipping charges incurred by us to resend the orders to our customers. Please, please ensure that your PayPal address is correct when you place your order to avoid unexpected charges and delays. Canada Post now charges us to get an order back from them when it is returned to us ... if for any reason your package is returned to us (i.e. you provide the wrong address or mark the package "Return to Sender", etc), we will withhold this amount from any refund given or send you an invoice that will be due before we resend the package back to you.
